The Innovate Trailblazer competition was launched to catalyse healthy ageing innovation in the UK. Our clients had been working with multiple partners for some time in this area. Securing additional funding would enable them to convene a more formalised collaboration and to progress their work at pace.

We began working with the partnership with only two weeks until the deadline. Drilling down into the requirements of the competition, understanding the existing programme of work and the drivers for each organisation allowed us to design a solution that brought these needs together.

High levels of engagement across the partnership enabled us to draw out insights that brought real depth to the content we then developed.

We ran the process from start to finish, giving confidence that the deadline would be met, the final product would be fantastic and that the best possible bid had been submitted.

We were delighted that the bid was successful in progressing to the next stage of the competition. Although unsuccessful in this round, we have continued to build relationships with the funder and look forward to the next Challenge being announced.

“This looks to be a hugely impressive approach that stands an excellent chance of delivering significant innovation”

“(This is) a compelling business case for funding to enable them and their partners to build upon the valuable and important work and environment already created.”

“Working with you was such a rewarding experience. Not only did you bring your own distinguished track record on major projects to the table, giving the process shape and rigour. You kept looping back to first principles, and writing afresh, whilst never losing sight of what the funder really wanted from us. Highly recommended.”
