Julia joined Venbridge in September 2021 after doing some great work as an associate on some of our client projects. As we look to grow our team, she shares her thoughts on what it’s like to work at Venbridge.

“I feel hugely fortunate to be working with Venbridge and to be involved in the work they produce; working with the people they partner with and being part of the way they carry out their work. It’s six months since I started working with Venbridge, I’ve been reflecting on what it is that I’m enjoying so much.

The flexible and remote culture. Many organisations make claims to be flexible and remote but when it comes the everyday, the reality is not quite as it first appeared. The remote culture within Venbridge is ahead of the curve. Employees don’t need to fight to work remotely and mould their own work routines, that culture already exists. You’re trusted to do the work from wherever you are.

Questions are necessary. Venbridge is the kind of place where you can get to understand how you work and where you excel in a supportive environment. Organisations often struggle to make this a reality, but at Venbridge my questions are encouraged, learning and growth is supported, and everyone is valued for their unique contribution.

The people. That may seem small to some, but the impact is extraordinary. I like the people I work with. I want us all to do well. I want the organisation to thrive. There is a fine balance between catching up with people and their lives and who they are as people on a teams call and then getting down to the important work. Venbridge has that balance right.

The calibre of work. It’s exceptional, Venbridge deliver extremely high-quality work, and I am consistently proud of it. This, alongside the variety and expanse of the work means there are constantly things happening that make it easy to get excited about. The start-up nature of the business ensures that it never feels mundane, there are lots of moving parts, new areas to get your teeth into. I’m excited about the work I’m involved in, the real sustainable change and impact we are co-creating.

The values. That’s always been an important attribute for my work. Doing good is a core value for me and the work we do makes that easy. We find ourselves today in a world where work can quickly supersede your authenticity and if you’re not mindful, your values become compromised. But values, for many, are what keep us going, knowing our work is aligned with our own values makes work easier. It makes work easier, more enjoyable, and certainly enables me to do my best work.

The understanding that life happens. Sometimes, life gets in the way. Dentist appointments are needed. Sometimes you need to get your washing machine fixed. People get ill. Sometimes you just need a day because life happens. Venbridge is a place where the people in the organisation are some of the best people to understand that this is the case. You’re not punished for life getting in the way, you’re celebrated for the work you produce.

I’m excited to see the things I can produce and develop with Venbridge. I’m excited to see what comes next. I’m excited to see what this small business can do with its big ideas and even bigger ambition.”
